Barcelona’s MWC 2026 event has begun. Without any delay, the company released the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra on the international market. Their specs aren’t all that shocking because both were available in China prior to MWC. On these foreign versions, they did, however, lower the battery capacity. The specifics are listed below.

We consider the Ultra’s camera arrangement to be a technological marvel. They packed a Light Fusion 1050L outsole with LOFIC HDR, a 50MP 1″ type sensor, on the back. This is positioned just next to the 50MP (115°) ultrawide lens. Additionally, the selfie camera has a 50MP resolution.

However, the massive 200MP (1/1.4″) periscope telephoto camera on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is far superior to these other lenses. The smooth variable zoom of this sensor ranges from 75 mm to 100 mm. The plateau is more noticeable than normal because all of the cameras are unbelievably large.

On the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, the remaining chassis shrinks from 9.4mm to 8.3mm thin. The screen of this new model won’t be as crisp as the 15 Ultra. Although it does allow for greater power savings, they reduced the resolution to 1.5K (2608 × 1200p). It is still a 6.9″ M10 OLED with Dolby Vision/HD10+ rating and LTPO 1-120Hz refresh rate.

This time, the local peak brightness has reached a level of 3500 nits. The Xiaomi Ceramic Shield Glass 3.0 has slightly improved drop resistance. The battery on this version of the Global 17 Ultra was actually the hot topic. The initial cell’s capacity was 6800mAh, but it has since been lowered to 6000mAh worldwide.

The wireless coil hits a 50W input as it continues to pull 90W from the wall. Naturally, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra sports an additional 2000mAh battery and a camera kit. With twin speakers, Bluetooth 6, WiFi 7, and even an ultrasonic fingerprint ID, the phone has all the flagship features.

Not to be overlooked is the fact that this phone is powered by the fastest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor available for Android. However, the cost of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will seriously damage one’s finances. The 16GB/512GB version costs €1499, or about PKR 494,000.

Although the base model lacks a 200MP camera, it does sport the same 4.6GHz Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU. The new Hyper OS 3 Android 16 firmware is integrated into this flagship gadget. UFS 4.1 storage speeds are supported by the processor. The battery is one area where the worldwide edition differs.

A 7000mAh battery powers the original Chinese Xiaomi 17. However, it was reduced to Si/C 6330 mAh in the global version. The good news is that the charging speeds were unaffected. This device has a 50W wireless coil and a 100W fast charging backup.

A rear 50MP camera trio is found on the basic Xiaomi 17. There’s a main 50MP lens, next to a 50MP ultrawide. The telephoto lens is a 60mm 2.6X zoomer at 50MP resolution. Then comes the selfie shooter, which is also 50MP. All sensors record 4K@60 or 8K@30 FPS.

This is a small 6.3″ AMOLED screen running at 120 Hz. The refresh rate for this is LTPO. The 1.5K resolution is protected by Xiaomi’s proprietary Shield Glass. Compared to Ultra’s IP68/IP69 rating, this newcomer only received an IP68 rating, which is rather lower.

It has all the flagship essentials. Xiaomi 17 is built around dual speakers and WiFi 7, with ultrasonic fingerprint ID and a display-out 3.2 USB port. And yes, this newcomer also has the Infrared remote. The global price of Xiaomi 17 (12/256GB) base trim is €999 (~PKR 329,000).  Â
