February 25th is the debut date for the Galaxy S26 series. Our goal has been to collect as much information as we can about each of its members. The Exynos 2600 chip will be shared by the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus in certain areas, as is already widely known. However, only the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is available on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Samsung community has been shocked by their discrepancy in performance.
The Geekbench database has been visited by both the Exynos 2600 and the series’ unique Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 (for Galaxy). We recently came into a TechMechanics comparison report that demonstrated the 8 Elite Gen 5’s superiority over the 2nm Exynos 2600.
In this case, the data speaks for itself. In the single-core Geekbench test, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which has the SD 8 Elite Gen 5 overclocked “for Galaxy,” scores 3724 points. 3197 points is where Exynos is stuck. Here, the former enjoys a lead of at least +16%.
With its main Oryon V3 core, the SD 8 Elite Gen 5 (for Galaxy) is over a gigahertz faster at 4.74GHz than the Exynos 2600, which is limited to clock speeds of 3.8GHz. The Qualcomm processor has eight cores, but at least Samsung’s chip has ten. Below is a comprehensive summary of Samsung mobile phone prices, which are subject to change. Both SoCs performed rather well in the multicore test run; the Exynos 2600 received 11012 points. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 had 2% better 11237 scores. Sadly, even a 2nm process node isn’t enough for Exynos to compete with Qualcomm. They still have a far superior silicon with 8 Elite Gen 5.
All of the phones that were tested here, by the way, had 12GB of RAM. Therefore, there was no advantage for any device in that regard. That will serve as the base memory for every Galaxy S26 smartphone. Some more expensive models with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM will be available.
Gamers who are worried should be aware that the Exynos 2600 is still not the best option for raw performance or consistent frames per second. Both the CPU and the GPU of the S26 Ultra’s SD 8 Elite Gen 5 will be overclocked. Globally, the Ultra’s chip will be same. For updates, keep an eye on the news.
